The Journey
In the mid 80's my family and I immigrated to the USA and what unfolds in my journey over the years is quite magical. I have very fond memories of my early years in Honduras especially the weekends we would travel through the mountains and winding roads to visit my Abuela in her village of Sabanagrande. Everyone came here for the best rosquillas and ojaldras, which were handmade and baked in beautiful clay ovens painted white. I remember observing my Abuela selling paletas (popsicles) from her home in amazement and believe my entrepreneurial drive was influenced by her.
Prior to fully launching Nested Yellow Jewelry Co. in 2009, I was on a path of architecture design and designed with a full spectrum of design firms such as Carl Abbott Architect, HOK and ACE hotel. Each experience opened my design world of poetic detail, timeless quality and balance. All of these fine skills are infused in the quality and care that I put into designing and creating one-of-a-kind jewelry and personally connecting with clients.
My personal intentions and desire are to create a heart-to-heart connection, a memory, and a sentimental feeling that is rich in story and expresses a special moment in your life. I love hosting because I’m inspired to create a special experience for couples desiring to make their meaningful wedding rings together. I love teaching and experiencing the brightness in a client's eyes when they find are amazed that they are making and transforming metal into what will become their wedding ring.
My exposure and love for nature was nurtured by my amazing parents who brought me outside to experience the beauty found in the simple things of life. In my childhood years, I looked forward to the hours I would spend gardening with my father and visits to my mother’s entomology laboratory where I would look through the microscopes. Because this memory is such a huge part of me, I’ve carried my appreciation and curiosities into Nested Yellow Jewelry designs with passion and heart.
